LinkTree: Council of Clubs Links and Resources
Check out top links and resources at https://linktr.ee/demclubs.
LinkTree (linktr.ee), (as well as alternatives like Link.bio), is a great way to put all of your important links in one place — like a website, but simpler.
It’s used frequently for social media, especially for Instagram which doesn’t allow links in posts. You can put your club website on your LinkTree/Linkin.bio as well as links to articles or other sources to make it easy for people looking at your posts to find the article/link you’re talking about.
Recurring Zoom Links for Club Meetings
Reminder:
The Club or Coalition shall meet individually at least once quarterly and for all endorsement votes and all meeting dates, times, and locations shall be provided to the SDCDP at least fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting for publication on the SDCDP website. A copy of the notice, agenda, and minutes for business meetings or endorsement meetings shall be supplied via email to the Director of Clubs and the SDCDP.
We’d like to encourage everyone to use a recurring Zoom meeting link for your club so we can add the link in the Party Calendar, which is easier than updating it once a month with a new link.
You can have a recurring meeting and still require registration (if desired), and either automatically or manually approve registrations. You can have them register for each meeting, or once for all meetings where they can use the same personal link every month.
You can still extract attendance records, as Zoom provides a report per meeting.
We used this method all of 2020 for the Council of Clubs and Club Development Committee meetings, and it has worked well. If you need help setting this up, please reach out for assistance.
Party Calendar
If you provided a Gmail address when re-chartering, you are able to edit your club’s meeting entries on the Party Calendar, on which the club is setup with a recurring meeting. You can edit just one occurrence, or the complete series. You can add details of the agenda to each meeting, or change the date and time as required. If you need help, please reach out for assistance.
And as a reminder, if you change your meeting date, time, or location (Zoom link), you must update the calendar item yourself, or email calendar@sddemocrats.org so SDCDP staff can do it.
If you don’t yet have access to edit your club’s Google calendar item, please email calendar@sddemocrats.org and provide the email address you want to use so SDCDP staff can assist you.
Volunteer and Support SDRRN Migrant Shelter
Volunteer
The San Diego Rapid Response Network Migrant Shelter is operating out of four hotel sites, which has been very challenging, and have been actively working with the State of California to condense operations into one hotel site. With the increased arrivals of migrants seeking asylum this month we have a larger number of shelter guests in our care. To increase our capacity and efficiently do our work across multiple locations, a competent and dependable volunteer team is essential.
We need your help to recruit passionate individuals who understand the importance of our work together. Volunteers often become the heart of our work -- hopefully, you know someone who will see this as a rewarding way to Do Good. Please help us promote the following openings -- more information on all are at: www.jfssd.org/helpnow All positions will require adherence to our COVID-19 protocols for the safety of our clients, staff, and other volunteers.
On-Call Airport/Greyhound Guide
Help families navigate the ins and outs of transportation by serving as a guide! Guides are responsible for picking up families from their respective hotels, helping them print their boarding tickets, and escorting families through the airport or greyhound station until they are at their boarding gate. Positions available 7 days a week!
In this role, volunteers help drive family members to their medical appointments and provide a follow-up report to the shelter manager with any updates or future appointments made. Due to COVID, volunteers need to remain in their vehicle during the appointment or provide a phone number for nurses to call when the appointment is complete. As an advocate, you have the opportunity to ensure that families are treated with dignity and respect while navigating the medical system and serve as a reminder that they are not alone.
Help us pack and deliver meal and hygiene kits! Shelter Couriers are responsible for putting together bags of hygiene items, food, and other supplies at our shelter and delivering them outside hotel doors (contactless) to ensure that families get the resources they need while in our care.
We’re Hiring
Check out the staff positions we have open:
Shelter Volunteer Coordinator
Shelter Program Assistant
Shelter Manager
Shelter Logistics Specialists
Bilingual Case Managers
Thank you in advance for your critical support,
Norma Chavez Peterson
SDRRN Steering Committee Member
