Dear Club Chairs/Presidents:
Please, please open up and read the links below (in blue) carefully and follow the directions. Completely fill out all of the 2021 Club Roster Submission Form and Pre-Endorsement Eligible Voting List. If forms are not properly filled out it could prevent your club from taking part in the Pre-Endorsement Conference.
Dates may change if the State Legislators adjusts the the Primary in 2022. The results of the new districts will not be released by the California Redistricting Commission until mid-January because the 2020 Census was delayed.
Further down the email is additional information about a mandatory CADEM Club Member Registry.
Pre-Endorsement vs. Endorsement Caucus
2021 Club Roster Submission Form
***notes from Codi:
Ignore the fact that it says “all items below must be submitted by July 27, 2021”. This is due August 11th.
Also ignore that it says Assembly District must be listed on roster submission. That is not required this year due to redistricting coming up and is not on the provided template or registry website linked below.
“Chartering Authority” should be San Diego County Democratic Party for most clubs. Young Dems may be chartered with the California Young Democrats.
This form and a copy of your bylaws should be sent to your Regional Director. If you are a countywide club or overlap multiple regions, send them to both/all Regional Directors. If your chartering authority is the SDCDP (most likely), you can send to clubs@sddemocrats.org and Party staff will receive it as well as myself.
2022 Endorsement Guide for Clubs/CDP Endorsement Key Dates - All dates regarding the Pre-Endorsement Conference are listed. Again some dates "may" change due to adjustments made by the Stare Legislators. Dec. 11, 2022 - Deadline for CCO potential representatives to be submitted to the both the Jan. 10, 2022 Chartering Authority and the appropriate Regional Director December 11, 2021 - DSCC Delegate Deadline: Close of all additions or changes to delegate /endorsement.
Pre-Endorsement Eligible Voting List (Roster of Members) - The first column ask "Will this member be the Voting Representative (yes or no?)" - Clubs do not need to answer this question now, because in all likelihood clubs have not voted on who will be their club reps.
The first major deadlines for the Pre-Endorsement Conferences are right around the corner!
July 27, 2021 - Deadline by which members of a Chartered Clubs and Organizations (CCO) must be "in good standing" in order for them to be included on the roster submitted to their Chartering Authority and the appropriate Regional Director. Make sure to get folks to renew and/or officially join by Tuesday!
August 11, 2021 - Roster submission deadline.
(60 - 90 Days Prior to the State Convention (Article VIII, Section 3.g.(6)) - Potential representative (those who will actually vote during pre-endorsement conferences) submission deadline to both Chartering Authority and the appropriate Regional Directors. (This date is subject to change, as new information is made available about Redistricting and Final Maps).
Clubs MUST include the definition of "members in good standing" language in their Bylaws. Please see sample language on Page 3 of the "Duties Overview - 2022 Endorsements" PDF. (July 27, 2021)
CCOs should submit more Potential Representative names than they are allotted. (July - August 11, 2021)
CCOs should register their club and submit all Potential club "members in good standing" through the CADEM Club Member Registry link here, the CCOs Submission Form and club roster (template attached). (August 11, 2021)
CCOs should be informed that their potential representatives’ names and contact info may be given to campaigns for the sake of challenges.
We will have the ability for the folks to download what they need themselves from the CDP Endorsement webpage as we update with the current information and CDP Endorsement-related materials on our main website www.cadem.org/endorsements.
CADEM Club Member Registry:
Every club must be registered by downloading and completing the Club Registration Form.
Both the CDP Club roster template and the Club Registration Form can also be downloaded from the CADEM Club Member Registry.
All CCO’s MUST be added to the CADEM Club Member Registry, first, before selecting the County and the Club, but this does not supplement the need to download and submit the completed Club Registration Form in addition to adding the CCO and registering the members of that club.
Before adding members to the registry, you must first register your club, you can add it by clicking the “Register Your Club” button and then
Once the club is added to the registry you can select the “Select County” and the “Select Club” from the dropdown menu within the club registry.
CCO’s can begin adding club members individually by clicking the “Add Members” button.
If you have more than 50 members to enter, you can upload an excel file to the registry at once for the club members to be processed. You must use ONLY the Excel File Club Roster Template provided by your Regional Dir., CDP staff or you may also Download the CDP Excel File from this registry when uploading many CCO club members.
