California Democratic Party 2022 Pre-Endorsement Conference
Every two years, the CDP hosts regional pre-endorsement conferences where delegates, including those assigned to clubs, get to have a say in who the Party endorses for U.S. House of Representatives, State Senate, and State Assembly.
Clubs who submit their rosters to the CDP can earn one or more votes based on their number of unique members per Assembly District, at 1 delegate per 20 members.
Roster submissions were due on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021. Next steps will be determination of number of representatives per club, selection of representatives, and the pre-endorsement conferences themselves, after redistricting.
Further details were sent out in a few separate emails, with future updates forthcoming. The most recent is available for viewing here:
***Also, all clubs have the option to request a Votebuilder/VAN account from the San Diego County Democratic Party, which has a quick lookup tool you can use to verify member information based on voter registration data (one per club). Please email clubs@sdddemocrats.org, and SDCDP staff (not me! :)) will get back to you as soon as they can.

SDCDP Team Fundraiser for LGBT Community Center
Please see the following message from our SDCDP Community Service Co-Chairs, Diana Aguirre & Luke Tesluk:
Hello Club Presidents!
This year our San Diego County Democratic Party - Community Service Committee has created a team to raise money for San Diego's largest HIV fundraiser.
The event is virtual with a special in-person and masked outdoor community celebration on Saturday, Sept. 25 at The Center.
We encourage our Democratic club members to join our team and support the fundraising efforts. It's very easy!
Check out San Diego County Democratic Party's team fundraising page for The San Diego LGBT Community Center. You can join the team via this link ---> https://donate.thecentersd.org/team/371877
Please share with your Dem club members via newsletters and social media.
AIDS Walk & Run San Diego – San Diego’s largest HIV fundraising event – will take place Thursday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 26. and will include an in-person and masked outdoor community celebration on Saturday, Sept. 25 at The Center offering the community the best of both worlds. Once again, walkers and runners will have the flexibility to complete an interactive and fun route on their own schedule as individuals or with their teams and friends.
New for 2021, for those who are comfortable joining, we are adding a special in-person and masked outdoor community celebration on Saturday, Sept. 25 at The Center with an opening ceremony, live musical performances, recognition of top teams and fundraisers, T-shirt distribution, booths spotlighting our event sponsors and funding recipients, a remembrance altar, and remarks from our most committed community leaders. Teams will be able to pick up their coveted yellow shoes for their amazing team fundraising and the Extra Mile Club is back with their signature crowns - we are so excited to see these iconic shoes and crowns along the route again
AIDS Walk & Run San Diego is a way to remember those we’ve lost to HIV/AIDS and to raise critically needed funds to support services for those impacted by HIV today.
This event also promotes invaluable HIV education. Today, we have effective tools to combat HIV, and to prevent its spread. AIDS Walk & Run San Diego remains committed to supporting those efforts, including:
HIV testing on at least an annual basis
Knowing your HIV status and that of your partner/s
Utilizing condoms, PrEP and PEP
Staying connected to medical care and medication to get to/maintain undetectable viral loads
By supporting and implementing these interventions, we can #BeTheGeneration that helps end new cases of HIV!
Thanks,
Diana Aguirre & Luke Tesluk - SDCDP Community Service Co-Leads

LinkTree: Council of Clubs Links and Resources
Check out top links and resources at https://linktr.ee/demclubs.
LinkTree (linktr.ee), (as well as alternatives like Link.bio), is a great way to put all of your important links in one place — like a website, but simpler.
It’s used frequently for social media, especially for Instagram which doesn’t allow links in posts. You can put your club website on your LinkTree/Linkin.bio as well as links to articles or other sources to make it easy for people looking at your posts to find the article/link you’re talking about.
Recurring Zoom Links for Club Meetings
Reminder:
The Club or Coalition shall meet individually at least once quarterly and for all endorsement votes and all meeting dates, times, and locations shall be provided to the SDCDP at least fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting for publication on the SDCDP website. A copy of the notice, agenda, and minutes for business meetings or endorsement meetings shall be supplied via email to the Director of Clubs and the SDCDP.
We’d like to encourage everyone to use a recurring Zoom meeting link for your club so we can add the link in the Party Calendar, which is easier than updating it once a month with a new link.
You can have a recurring meeting and still require registration (if desired), and either automatically or manually approve registrations. You can have them register for each meeting, or once for all meetings where they can use the same personal link every month.
You can still extract attendance records, as Zoom provides a report per meeting.
We used this method all of 2020 for the Council of Clubs and Club Development Committee meetings, and it has worked well. If you need help setting this up, please reach out for assistance.
Party Calendar
If you provided a Gmail address when re-chartering, you are able to edit your club’s meeting entries on the Party Calendar, on which the club is setup with a recurring meeting. You can edit just one occurrence, or the complete series. You can add details of the agenda to each meeting, or change the date and time as required. If you need help, please reach out for assistance.
And as a reminder, if you change your meeting date, time, or location (Zoom link), you must update the calendar item yourself, or email calendar@sddemocrats.org so SDCDP staff can do it.
If you don’t yet have access to edit your club’s Google calendar item, please email calendar@sddemocrats.org and provide the email address you want to use so SDCDP staff can assist you.
