Cancel Club Meetings for March
Governor Gavin Newsom and California public health officials update policy
Please postpone your club meetings
Governor Gavin Newsom has issued an updated policy on the global health crisis. The press release is available here.
Club meetings are viewed as non-essential gatherings, and should be postponed.
“Changing our actions for a short period of time will save the life of one or more people you know,” said Governor Newsom. “That’s the choice before us. Each of us has extraordinary power to slow the spread of this disease. Not holding that concert or community event can have cascading effects — saving dozens of lives and preserving critical health care resources that your family may need a month from now. The people in our lives who are most at risk – seniors and those with underlying health conditions — are depending on all of us to make the right choice.”
The full policy can be found here.

If you meet in a restaurant or paid venue please reach out to your host to discuss how you can help them through this difficult time. Some clubs are considering making a contribution for lost revenue and/or taking up a collection for waitstaff.
The 2020 CADEM Spring E-Board meeting has been canceled. The party will conduct an all-mail ballot election and will certify the election results with a vote during the 2020 Summer Executive Board Meeting. All other committee work will be held over until the August Executive Board meeting. Details of reimbursement for registration fees and lunch tickets, and how the DNC Members election will be conducted, are available here.
If you have questions, or need further advice, please reach out.
In solidarity, albeit at a Social Distance.
